Go Solar at Your Home in Five Steps:
Here are some tips to pre-qualify your house for solar:
How old is your roof?
If your roof is older than 10 years, check for signs that it is reaching its age limit (missing shingles, missing nails). If your roof looks like it needs replacement in a couple of years, you may want to re-roof before putting up panels.
What directions do your roofs face?
Ideally, solar is installed on a south facing roof for maximum output. Panels are still highly productive on east and/or west facing roofs. Roof angle is not critically important. Anywhere between 10 and 45 degrees will allow great production in Tennessee.
Are there trees nearby that shade your roof?
Trees located to the east, south or west of your home might create shade depending on distance from your home, tree height, time of year and time of day. LightWave Solar representatives have the tools to tell you how much sun your roof will get and how much electricity your solar panels will generate.
