Residential Solar
Option 3: Live off-the-grid
Just a handful of our customers have off-grid solar systems.

Living off-the-grid usually requires minimal electricity use and daily energy management. This lifestyle entails planning and coordinating your energy use based on available sunlight and battery charge.

Those who live off-the-grid are their own utility, even in the middle of winter when sunlight is low and needs are high. A generator can provide backup power for your off-grid solar system.

We can help you explore this option if you think it is feasible for your site. We would begin the process with an upfront design fee. Also, we would ask you to complete our Load Calculation Worksheet.

Roof-mounted
We will evaluate the suitability of your roof based on this criteria:
- Faces south, east and/or west
- Has minimal shade from nearby trees
- Has minimal obstructions like chimneys, dormers, etc.
- Is in good condition (typically, under 10 years old)
- Is asphalt shingle, metal, standing seam, or another material suitable for solar panels
Examples of our roof-mounted projects

10kW solar system on standing seam metal roof in Clarksville, TN

15kW solar system on standing seam metal roof in Memphis, TN
Other mounting options

Ground-mounted
A ground-mounted system costs more than a roof-mounted system, but provides higher production. Here’s why: We can install the panels so they are orientated due south, receiving the most sunlight. Also, ground-mounted solar panels receive more air flow, enhancing performance.
Examples of our ground-mounted projects

10kW system in Kingston Springs, TN

20kW system in Clarksville, TN

10kW system in Hendersonville, TN
Canopy or awning
Get the perks of a ground-mounted system, plus shade for your parking area, patio, or porch. A parking canopy pairs nicely with an electric vehicle (EV) charger. Cool factor: Translucent solar panels can be used!
