Living Light Public Tours

Published March 16, 2012

Following the 2011 Department of Energy Solar Decathlon competition, the Living Light house is back in Tennessee and on tour!

Developed and designed by students at the University of Tennessee, the Living Light house is a zero-energy residence powered by a 10.9 kW solar system.  It features a smart facade, home automation and an HVAC system customized for Tennessee’s climate.  LightWave Solar retrofited the solar system from grid-tied to stand-alone. The battery system will power the appliances at night.

Living Light will be at Centennial Park for public tours every weekend in March. Fridays: 1:00-6:00 PM; Saturdays and Sundays:  12:00-4:00 PM.  Don’t miss a chance to see this house!  More info here.
