Tuck Hinton Architects Goes Solar

Published June 27, 2012

Tuck Hinton Architects is about one week from completing a solar panel retrofitting of its historic headquarters building at 410 Elm St. in SoBro.

The panels, which Nashville-based LightWave Solar Electric LLC is installing, will help the design firm cuts its annual NES bill in half, according to Kem Hinton, a principal with the company.

Hinton said the effort is “long overdue.”

“The orientation of the roof is almost the ideal slope we would want the solar panels to have,” he said.

Hinton declined to offer a price tag for the project.

Tuck Hinton Architects has designed numerous iconic Nashville-area buildings, including the current expansion project involving the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
