TVA Opens 2015 Green Power Program on Jan 26

TVA will start accepting applications for the Green Power Providers program on January 26, 2015, and the application window will be open until February 13. TVA will randomly select projects if the program is oversubscribed.

TVA will pay a premium rate of two cents for solar generation. For a typical commercial system of 50 kilowatts, the average annual revenue for the first 10 years is approximately $9,100 per year. Over TVA’s 20 year term, estimated solar revenue is over $203,000!

If you don’t apply before February 13, you will still have a chance to get in the program as capacity becomes available. However, TVA has allocated only 6 megawatts (MW) of capacity for commercial projects, so the earlier you apply, the better your chance of approval. Contact us to get started!
