We are happy to announce the hiring of several new employees within the last few weeks. We have recently expanded our Tri-Cities office in Johnson City. Paul Sutton has done a wonderful job installing solar projects in the Tri-Cities area, and we believe we can continue to grow and prosper in East Tennessee. So, LightWave Solar has added several new positions to this office and now Paul has the help he needs. Paul’s primary responsibility is business development and sales. His new job title is Solar Consultant.
Â
Elizabeth McPherson has also been hired as a Solar Consultant in the Tri-Cities area. Beth is a Sustainable Building Planning Consultant and LEED Accredited Professional and is very passionate about renewable energy. She will be working on a part-time basis.
Â
Joshua Hagedorn has been hired as a Project Manager. Josh has a BA from ETSU in Johnson City and attended the PV System Design and Installation Training at Pellissippi State. He was employed by East Tennessee Solar as an Installation Foreman before joining LightWave Solar.

Kathleen Thomas has been hired as the Office Manager of the Tri-Cities office. Kathleen has a BA from Arizona State and is dedicated to growing the Johnson City branch through creativity and organization.

In addition, we have two new PV installers here in Nashville, Justin McCaleb and Matthew Pelerossi. SEIA Formalizes Partnership With Tennessee Solar Group
The national Solar Energy Industires Association (SEIA) and the Tennessee Solar Energy Industries Association (TenneSEIA) have entered into a formal partnership that is designed to coordinate the resources of both organizations and promote the growth of Tennessee’s solar energy market.
“Tennessee is one of the top markets for solar energy manufacturing in the US,” notes Tom Kimbis, vice president of strategy and external affairs for national SEIA.
There are now 209 solar companies operating throughout the state, including 16 manufacturing facilities. Tennessee’s panel production capacity grew by 62% in the past year, according to SEIA. The new partnership will help ensure continued industry growth.
TenneSEIA’s mission is to make solar energy a mainstream energy source and realize the full potential of the solar industry in Tennessee. Their goal is to advance solar as an energy source, to stimulate economic investment and to create jobs for Tennesseans and the State of Tennessee.

Give the Gift of Light This Year
LuminAID Lab is proud to introduce the LuminAID light: a solar-rechargeable, inflatable lamp that packs flat and inflates to create a lightweight, waterproof lantern. The design has made them ideal for providing light for people in disaster-hit areas or in impoverished countries. You can give light this year to someone in need or to anyone who loves the outdoors. Check out all of the details here. Happy holidays from LightWave Solar!

Action Alert!
The 1603 Treasury Grant provides businesses with a 30% grant to offset the cost of installing renewable energy systems. This Grant is about to expire at the end of this year and Congress is currently debating about whether or not to extend it. We must do every to encourage Congress to extend this Grant!
