LightWave Solar is now a Knoxville area solar installer!
We are very excited to announce that LightWave Solar now has an office in Knoxville!
The expansion into the Knoxville area tracks with the opening of TVA’s 2015 Green Power Providers program which pays a 2 cent premium for solar electricity. The program for commercial projects was in wait list status for most of 2014, so we are eager to help more customers get in the popular solar program this year.
LightWave Solar has installed nearly 500 solar systems across the state, mostly in Middle Tennessee. But back in 2007, partnering with Thomas Tripp, LightWave Solar installed the first commercial installation in Knoxville at the Mellow Mushroom on Cumberland Avenue. It was the second solar system interconnected with Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB).
Since then Knoxville became a Dept. of Energy Solar America City and a solar energy hub. Now, with renewed capacity in TVA’s solar program and new financing options for both business owners and homeowners, this year is a great time for us to expand into the Knoxville area and maintain a full time presence.
Solar veteran, Jon Bates, heads up the LightWave Solar Knoxville branch. Jon has been in the solar industry for nearly 30 years, so he knows his stuff!
Besides our solar knowledge and experience, we can now offer great financing options for system owners in Knoxville and surrounding East Tennessee areas. For businesses, we have partnered with BB&T for low interest commercial project loans which can allow business owners to see a 2 year solar payback. Read previous post for more info on the 2 year payback option.
For homeowners, we offer the Dividend Solar Loan which allows homeowners to go solar with no money down. For homes with ideal solar site conditions, instant positive cash flow is possible.
On March 20, 2015, we are hosting a Commercial Solar Lunch & Learn in Knoxville to help business owners learn more about installing solar and will cover costs and financing options as well as tax benefits and how to get in TVA’s Green Power program.
