What are Tier 1 Solar Modules?

Published April 8, 2015

We are often asked what brand of panels we install and why.  Just like our customers, we want the highest quality, most efficient and cost competitive panels available.  While we can accommodate client requests for specific brands of panels, we only install Tier 1 solar panels. Take a look at this image to understand what Tier 1 means for solar panels.

Renesola is a Tier 1 solar module

We often install Renesola solar panels because they are a leading manufacturer who makes high-quality panels, and we pool buying power with solar co-op Amicus to get the best pricing available.

As an Authorized SunPower dealer, we also install SunPower solar panels which are more expensive and the most efficient solar panels available. Higher efficiency means the solar panels produce more power per square foot so they can make more sense when roof space is limited.

All of the solar panel manufacturers we choose provide 25-year performance warranties that guarantee that the panels will produce at least 80% of rated output at year 25. They also provide 10-year workmanship warranties. Moreover, LightWave Solar provides a 1-year workmanship warranty.

LightWave Solar customers (some of them with systems nearly 9 years old!) know that their panels will perform as expected for decades, often exceeding our conservative estimates.

500 solar installations and counting…
